Declaration of Principles
I practice something I call #whereveryougomakeitbetter: applying my skills and vital force towards the greater good, wherever, however, and any time I can.
Ongoing Initiatives
FOUNDATION
Droom Boon
Droom Boon is an NGO I started in 2011 to activate and support sole project initiators.
In other words, I help good people draft, plan, and execute their charity projects with 0% overhead.
Droom Boon is small, entirely volunteer-operated, and aims to complete at least one project a year. So far, we've:
-
renovated an orphanage in Cambodia
-
provided vital medicine to pediatric cancer patients in the Republic of Moldova
-
built a library in the only village school in Ataco, El Salvador
-
+ other, smaller, projects.
ART SUPPORT
Darvag / Center Stage
I'm the on-call writer and grant assistant for Darvag and Center Stage, two arts & theater foundations operating in the Bay Area to support and maintain a safe creative space for the Iranian and Assyrian refugee diaspora.
SOCIAL BETTERMENT & HUMAN RIGHTS
#VinereapeViu (talk show host)
#VinereapeViu is a weekly, live, Romanian-language talk show I produce and host single-handedly to raise awareness on polarized items of interest: race, gender, religion, political orientation, sexual orientation, human rights, mental health, women's rights, environment, etc. (original posts on fb, like here; copied playlist here)
Ask a woman (founder)
Ask a woman is an international, closed, group of support for professional women willing to pool resources to support each other's individual projects.
Collaborations
Member and active collaborator for a variety of interest groups in Romania, the US, and abroad supporting reproductive rights, LGBTQI+ rights, and Rroma rights. Recurrent projects with Crestem oameni (Md) and Asociatia Bunul Samaritean (Ro).
